Bioinformatics is a field in which Computational Sciences  has been used to enhance  the understanding of Life Sciences. It is a new arena which has originated  from  recent work  on gene sequences such as the Human Genome Project (HGP). Bioinformatics utilises data mining techniques and computational  algorithms with  statistical tools to gene and protein sequence information to explore virgin land of life sciences .
